I'M AS OK AS YOUR FACE!
So I kept feeling like I needed to do some sort of Super Bowl post-mortem (Ha! Get it? "Post!") but I kept putting it off. So then I had other things to post ... but didn't want to until I got the Super Bowl post up. Then I was busy in Syracuse blogging for this whole other thing. So ... yadda yadda yadda ... we go three weeks without a post. Yeesh.
But like I said, I was out in Syracuse blogging for the big SND Best of Newspaper Design competition. Tried editing video on my laptop for the first time and that actually worked out pretty well. I made a little movie of one very lengthy Los Angeles Times entry that found its way onto Newsdesigner. I put together another short video giving a quick tour of the judging facilities. My cohorts on the SND28 International Web Desk also dabbled in video production with even better results. Some of their subjects were more serious, such as Gaspard's quick documentary about an award winning New York Times graphic. Then some others were ... less serious.
Regardless, it proved that we could shoot some pretty serviceable Web video using only point-and-shoot digital cameras. Pretty cool. (You know, for geeks.)
BARNEY QUOTE FROM THIS WEEK'S 'HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER': "Asking someone to come see your play is like asking them for a ride to the airport. Or to crash on your couch. Or to help you move. Call a cab, book a room, hire some movers. Friends don't let friends come see their crappy play!"
