HANDY TIP FOR TALK SHOW GUESTS

So, I've got a question. What is the deal with people on talk shows? Have they never watched television before? Just in case any of you out there are future talk show guests, here is how it goes: 1) You sit down and talk to host. 2) The Host interviews you and, when he or she is done, says "thank you" and plugs your movie/book/tv show/cd/play/mass media offering and cuts to a commercial. 3) You CONTINUE TO SIT THERE UNTIL THE CONTROL ROOM CUTS TO COMMERCIAL. How many times do I have to watch a guest get up and awkwardly walk off the stage? I would suggest that perhaps a stage hand of some sort should be reminding guests of this ... but that only brings me back to my previous question: Have they never watched television before? Case in point: Monday's Daily Show. The guest was Bill Gates. His awkward exit was so profound that it warranted mention on TUESDAY'S Daily Show. Now here's the thing: Bill Gates is supposed to be one of the smartest men in the world. And yet ... there he is. Walking off stage while Jon Stewart is trying to plug Windows Vista. So Bill. Next time: Sit. Until. The commercial. Sheesh.
